How to Understand the Quran

In this program, you will begin our Understand Quran course track.

Curriculum:

  • June - July

    'Understand: 1' --- In level 1, you will be introduced to the foundation of Quranic Arabic terminology, types of words, pronouns, and more! At the end of level 1, you will understand 50% of the Quran.

  • August

    'Understand: 2' --- Your education will continue with ism sentences, Arabic chains, adjectives, and other more complicated concepts. At the end of level 2, you will understand 65% of the Quran.

  • September - October

    'Understand: 3' --- In level 3, you will be introduced to patterns, detail isms, negation, connector isms, and even more complicated concepts. At the end of level 3, you will understand 80% of the Quran.

This program will help you understand the Quran, so you can translate as you read, and won't have to rely on English translations as much.

This program has hundreds of bite-sized lessons. All lessons are prerecorded and all concepts are explained by Imam Adam Jamal.

Students in this program will follow a schedule to complete the prerecorded lessons from levels 1-3, in their own time, and join a weekly live Q&A with our senior instructor, Ustadha Fathima.


Timeline:

  • Introductory Launch Call (live): Sunday June 19th 11:15am PST
  • Lessons (prerecorded): June 20th - October 21st (Monday-Friday)
  • Weekly Q&As (live): Saturdays 11:15am-12:30pm PST


Prerequisites:

You must have the ability to read Arabic. Fluency is not necessary.

About Your Instructors

Imam Adam Jamal

Founder of Quranic

Imam Adam Jamal is an Imam and Education Director at the largest masjid in Washington State, USA. He holds a degree and ijazahs in Islam as well as a Master's in Education. He loves that look when students start to understand the words of the Quran.

Fathima Haseefa

Senior Instructor

Fathima Haseefa began her Arabic studies with Imam Adam Jamal at Bayyinah Institute. She continued her Islamic studies with the Qalam Seminary and is currently completing the Alimiyyah program. She is also serving as a curriculum developer for Quranic. Fathima has taught Quranic Arabic to hundreds of students at masaajid and globally online. She enjoys helping students develop a deeper relationship with the Qur'an.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is there an age requirement?

    We've had students from ages 8-70+ in our courses and they've all enjoyed it and benefited. We recommend children under 10 take the class with an adult.

  • What if I don’t finish? Do I get lifetime access?

    This course is structured to allow you to learn 80% of Quranic Arabic in 3 months or less when spending 30 minutes a day on it. You can purchase lifetime access, so you can learn at your own pace. If you subscribe monthly, you will have access as long as you are subscribed.

  • How many hours of review and homework time will there be each week?

    Each level has 7-8 units, and each unit has several bite-sized videos that amount to approximately 1 hour. Each week is dedicated to 1.3 units, which means you will need to dedicate at least 15 minutes a day to go through the content, which includes some homework and review sections. Then it is up to you how much more review time you want to dedicate.

  • Is there a refund policy?

    If you register for the course and it did not meet your expectations, then you may email us within 30 days to receive a prompt, no-questions-asked full refund at [email protected]

  • Do I HAVE to join the Whatsapp group?

    The Whatsapp group is completely optional and you will still be able to complete the course and ask questions using the discussion sections without having to join the Whatsapp group. Please note that joining the Whatsapp group means that you share your Whatsapp registered phone number with everyone in the group.
